Buy backup storage from Images for QEMU snapshots and vzdump backups. They share one organization-wide pool at $1.00 per 10 GB per month, billed hourly from account credit. Restore that server in place, or deploy a new VPS from a backup on this tenant. Backup storage on the pricing page is that pool.

What that means in practice

Cluster backups live on the same Proxmox connection as the guest. They are not an off-site archive. If the guest holds a database, a game world, Vaultwarden data, or n8n workflows you cannot rebuild from git, keep a copy somewhere that is not this VPS, on a schedule you control.

Copy data off yourself

Pull files with rsync, dump databases with the tool the application already has, and keep the copy off-box. Test a restore once. A backup you have never restored is a hope. The docs walk through both the pool and off-server copies: Backups and snapshots.

The pool is not off-site

Canceling backup storage takes effect on the 1st. Copies on every tenant stay for seven days, then are deleted. Destroying a server deletes snapshots on its disk; backups remain on Images for that tenant until you delete them or the pool's grace window ends. You will still want a copy you control.
